Little Bear Sanctuary

Shrek has been our good luck leader for the last couple of years, so we're going to stick with him as our boss goat for the Goat Games 2024. Shrek is the leader of our goat family of eleven. Even though he's the smallest (a pygmy), he has the biggest personality. He's the first to greet visitors and demands attention, like endless rubs and kisses! We rescued him right here in SW Florida, and he has been an inspiration to everyone who meets him. He embodies the mission of our sanctuary: acceptance, love, and endless snuggles.

Little Bear Sanctuary’s mission is to provide much-needed, healthy, compassionate permanent housing to abandoned, abused, and/or neglected farm animals. We are a true sanctuary—our animals are never kept in pens or cages and are allowed to roam free in their natural environment. This year, we are raising money to expand our senior pig area, give the goats a dedicated night area, and provide the sheep with their own space.

For the Goat Games this year, Team Little Bear is raising funds for infrastructure. We need to expand the senior pig area, give the goats a dedicated night area, and give the sheep their own area. This involves new shelters, which cost a minimum of $1,000 each. We need at least four new shelters. We also need new fencing and posts installed by a professional for the senior pig area, fence repair, and a climbing section for the goats, along with fence repair for the sheep area. Any additional funds raised beyond the cost of these expansions will go toward operational costs for feed, hay, and medical care. Our goal for the Goat Games this year is to raise at least $15,000.

You can do a virtual fundraiser, such as hiking, walking, swimming, playing games, or whatever you’d like to do to help us raise money throughout the month of September. Don't forget to post on social media and tag us so we can share your posts.
