Our Story
Our mighty little team is growing so much that we’re becoming a mighty bigger team that’s ready for a new home. Having spent the last 14 years getting established on our founder’s property, we’re ready to leave the nest, just like the baby barn swallows who are born here every year. We are 1/3 to our fundraising goal to purchase a forever home for the sanctuary. Our new place will allow us to continue on our journey of reimagining what a sanctuary can do. Our humane education, youth leadership cohorts, lifelong sanctuary for formerly abused and neglected animals, and habitat protection efforts all align with our mission to Protect Nature, Promote Compassion, and Inspire Change. We are rethinking what a sanctuary can do. What if: We could sustain the animal and environmental protection movements by nurturing advocates and giving them a place of healing and respite? Our sanctuary served as a hub of daily activity, education, and advocacy? While offering lifelong refuge to formerly farmed animals, we also taught people how their daily choices can save even more animals? Our sanctuary offered workshops on landscaping with native plants and coexisting with native wildlife? That’s what we’re going to do. We hope you’ll join us.
